Michel writes poetry in his study. Lydia translates him under Norman skies. Michel’s missives are taciturn writ large. Years of epistolary silence accumulate saturnine. The invisible remains nevertheless wholly present. Poems go untranslated in worldly reticence. Lydia lives therefore altogether in retirement.
